This week we catch up with one of our early morning super dads: Michal Stańczyk — Name: Michal (‘Me-How’) — Crossfitting since: April 2012 — A little about yourself:I’m married to my beautiful Natalie, smiley and chatty 4.30 pm crossfiter, and have two wonderful and handsome boys: Oli (5) and Ari (3). I was born and raised in Poland (greatest country on earth! Our eagle has a crown) and came to US (a close second greatest country on earth! Even though the eagle is bald…) on a college tennis scholarship.  Now, I make sure my wife and kids can enjoy eating “meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar” by working for the “man” trading bonds.  For those unfamiliar, bonds are wrongly perceived as the less exciting part of the financial market if compared to stocks, but are way smarter.  Athletics wise, I started at age 8 in Karate Kyokushin, continued that for a few years and later on transitioned to tennis.  I was a nationally ranked junior and collegiate player and even tried some pro stuff.  My interest in pursuing tennis ended after Roger Federer won his 12th Grand Slam and I figured I would never top that, so why try — How did you get into CrossFit? I used this awesome website GOOGLE.COM (try it, if you haven’t) and searched for “crossfit gym in Wauwatosa.” Funny enough in 2012 only Badger showed up with Tyler’s skinny blonde picture.  I thought to myself, here’s somebody I can relate to, if he can do it so can I.  Also the gym is less than 2 miles from my house, so couldn’t find an excuse not to try it — How has CrossFit changed you outside the gym? I look for opportunities to apply my fitness gains in real life.  For example, I keep waiting to be called to deadlift PR a car off somebody or (box) jump a poor lost kitty off a tree.  I can just see those headlines “Crossfit Hero saves the day!  Tinker Bell is safe.” And outside of day dreaming, crossfit encouraged me to try new things and challenge myself outside of my comfort zone.  We are all good at something, so it’s easy not to explore what we are bad at #membermonday #motivation #fitness #community #results #badgerbuilt #badgercrossfit #healthiswealth #superdad #reebok
