This week we check in with a 9:15 regular, Julie Lochmann! — Crossfitting since: on and off since 2012. — A little about yourself: I have 4 adult children (3 daughters and 1 son) and 2 awesome grandsons. I currently live in Bayside but have lived all over the country from California to Connecticut and many parts in between. I am hoping to stay put for awhile and make Bayside my home (at least for now). Working out has been a part of my life since the early 90’s. I used to run/jog/shuffle and have finished a couple marathons and lots of half marathons…not so much anymore. After signing up and not showing up for 3 runs I decided it was time to move on. My biggest goal at this point in my life is to be strong and healthy and able to stay active. So far CrossFit 3 times a week alternating with yoga the other days helps me accomplish this. — How did you get into CrossFit? I had just moved back to Milwaukee from Rice Lake WI and into the Enclave apartments. I could see the people running out of Badger and wondered what was going on. I signed up for the elements class and have been CrossFitting pretty much since. — What makes Badger CrossFit unique? I love the diversity of the workouts and the one on one experience with having a coach present. The closeness and comradarie of the members is not like anything I have experienced in other gyms. When I started CrossFit I had just moved back to the area and didn’t know many people. The friends I have made at Badger will be friends for life. — Advice for people just getting started: Don’t be intimidated.
