This week we check in with the amazing Ashley Ferguson! — Crossfitting since: February 2015 — A little about yourself: I was born and raised in Tosa, went to UW-Parkside and played collegiate basketball there for four years and naturally moved back to Tosa three years ago. I used to be a Personal Trainer as well as a high school basketball coach (coaching is something I would love to do again someday.) Being in the health and fitness field, I was introduced to lululemon and am now there full time as a manager at the Brookfield location. I love traveling, my cat Kitty, and living close to my family and friends — How did you get into CrossFit? I took elements with a coworker to get to know Tyler as we knew we wanted him to be a lululemon ambassador and the rest is history — How has CrossFit changed you outside the gym? Crossfit has brought me back to feeling like an athlete again…it's been ten years since I've played sports competitively and I love that I can feel strong and challenged every day. It has been so much fun to become a part of an amazing community that reminds me very much of being a part of a team again. It has taught me to have self love…to embrace who I am and that my best is good enough. It's amazing to see that I am in as good if not better shape in my 30s than I was in my 20s — What makes Badger CrossFit unique? The community at Badger is like nothing I've ever experienced in a gym. I have never stuck with one type of workout for this long and I've tried so many different workouts and gyms and I can say after two and a half years, I'm still just as excited to go to Badger as I was when I first started. The programming combined with consistency and self motivation will without a doubt show you gains at the end of each cycle and the coaches are all super knowledgable and helpful no matter what class I jump in on — Advice for people just getting started: I used to be a Crossfit critic and now I know that this workout is truly for everyone. Just trust the process, listen to your body and show up consistently and you will see changes in your body and mind. Have so much fun and enjoy the journey. @fergusona22
