Turkish Get-Up Finish // Badger CrossFit

In this weeks technique Tuesday, we progress from the halfway point to standing on two feet. From the bridged position, if an athlete lacks glute strength and shoulder stability, swinging the leg through to bring the knee under the hip can be a challenge. From there, we need to push off the floor and wipe the back leg out to put the body in better half-kneeling position where the rear foot can be used to help you come up to standing. From the top we want to come back exactly the same way we came down. Most are able to do a reverse lunge but lack patience in breaking down the next steps. The leg needs to wipe back in and then start to windmill the arm down to the ground, but usually these steps are done simultaneously. Once we get back to our knee under our hip, the same lack of strength and stability in the hip and shoulder causes the leg to swing back through with a low hip, rather than keeping the hip high to allow room for a smooth transition of the leg back to the halfway position. #techniquetuesday #turkishgetup #technique#movebetter #strength #flexibility #stability #badgerbuilt#badgercrossfit #crossfit #wauwatosa #wisconsin #fitness#reebokrecognized
