This week we check in with one of our 5 year members, Roger Karnath — CrossFitting since: April 2012 — A little about yourself: Born and raised in Menomonee Falls, WI.  I spent the last 8 years in the US Army Reserve as an army engineer and am a recent college graduate from Cardinal Stritch University.  Currently I am a CNC operator for a small machine shop in Menomonee Falls, but looking for new job opportunities to grow my career.  I was never super athletic, only played baseball in HS.  I am the youngest of four children…yes I have three older sisters — How did you get into CrossFit?  When I was at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 2009 for army AIT training I first heard about CrossFit and the high intensity and results.  When I returned home I looked into CrossFit but didn't join until a friend got me in touch with BCF in early 2012.  Once I had my intro class I was hooked — How has CrossFit changed you outside the gym? It has expanded my social circle to a whole other level.  Most of my friends today are from the gym or the fitness community.  It has made my military and civilian job easier, being able to lift heavy weight with no problem and having more work capacity overall.  Since crossfit pushes our bodies so much that has carried over into me pushing myself in other aspects of my life to do better and to always try to be the best person I can be — What makes Badger CrossFit unique? BCF has been a big part of my life for the last five years.  What really makes it different is the environment that has brought all kinds of people together and into my life.  I never would have known 95% of these people or been friends with them if not for BCF.  Having been doing CrossFit for years it is clear that the level of coaching is higher at BCF than other places.  The people at BCF are genuine and truly care about each other.  This I personally attribute to Tyler Sullivan, who's level of dedication and commitment from day one is something special
