This week we catch up with one of our supermoms – Natalie Stańczyk — Crossfitting since: April 2012 — A little about yourself: Originally from the west coast (born in California, spent most of my upbringing in Portland) got to Wisconsin somewhat by accident. After teaching 2nd and 3rd grade for a bit and later working in marketing, I now get the pleasure of staying at home with my two (3 and 5 yr old) boys — How did you get into CrossFit? I had just had my first son and was looking to get back into shape. My husband had heard of crossfit (it was fairly new in WI at the time) and it sounded like something I'd like to try. I feel more confident since starting crossfit. I'm not confident to the point of a shirtless workout, but I think we can all appreciate my self restrain. My current job situation as a mother of two active boys  involves an immense amount of lifting, dragging, throwing, schelping and general physical activity therefore crossfit lends a very practical application for that. Some of my closest friends either joined crossfit with me or I have met through crossfit. Having a community of women who are in the same stage of life and enjoy being active has been such a blessing — What makes Badger CrossFit unique? There are so many things I love about badger- the people, the programming, the coaches, and the atmosphere just to name a few — Advice for people just getting started: You will eventually be able to move again, muscle soreness will subside.  There are so many aspects of crossfit so instead of getting discouraged with what you "suck" at, focus on your successes, even the smallest ones, like getting into the gym, and just keep practicing the other stuff. Oh and the movement is never as simple as it looks when the coach demos it, so don't worry if you can't force your body to replicate it right away #membermonday #motivation #fitmom #fitfam #monday #badgerbuilt #badgercrossfit #crossfit #fitness @natstanczyk
