This week we check in with rowing expert, Guillermo Salas! — CrossFitting since: 2013 (February 2013 Elements.  Gregg Seaverson and I are the only "survivors" from that promotion. — A little about yourself: 47 year old father of 3, married for almost 13, adoptive doggie father to Bella, a 2.5 year old Great Dane sweetheart.  I can be classified as Imported Goods from Caracas, Venezuela (nope… that's NOT in Mexico!) I made Milwaukee my home January of 1996 and couldn't have chosen a better community – snow and freezing cold accounted for! — I am a Software Engineering Executive (currently), but overall geek since I was 8.  That makes me a desk jokey which is daily struggle, standing desk and all! — I love rowing, squats and cleans, macros, PRs and gainz. — How did you get into CrossFit? I was never really much of an "athlete" of any kind, although I did play what you could call "organized" sports in HS, mostly baseball (3B). I played some basketball in middle school and plenty of street soccer (Futbol!) I'd say most of my cardio in high school came from dancing, not sports. I have been up and down in weight my whole life, always on the heavy side, and the spring of 2010 is when it all seemed to turn around for me.  I was closing in on 300# at 5' 11" and I NEVER really felt myself in the body I was in.  I started with P90X and lost about 50#, went on to Insanity and lost another 40#, outfitted my basement with dumbbells and a good elliptical and went at it on my own for a while. January of 2013 while perusing the FitMke FB group for ideas and motivation, I came across posts for CrossFit from (I think) CrossFit Milwaukee at the time. I called Ryan but couldn't make it work there, so after googling and watching plenty of youtube videos that got me all hyped up I ended up trying my first class at CrossFit 100 with Marcela.  In discussing the "inconvenience" of it being in Glendale she immediately suggested Badger and Tyler which of course I had no idea was so close or even existed after my five second google search.  I tried the intro class and wanted to sign up yesterday! @srdotnet
