BCF Coaching updates!
This is an overdue post, and we’re sorry for the delay!
We would like to officially welcome two new Badger CrossFit coaches to our arsenal here, Colin Dewey and Tylor Rockewell. Both have completed our Coaches Elements course, and we are excited about having them on board, assisting you with your goals in health and fitness.
We pride ourselves in having the best coaches in the industry of CrossFit and functional fitness, and both Colin and Tylor are going to be great assets and a welcomed eye to detail for you and your health and fitness goals!
A little about Colin:
CrossFit was introduced to me in Hawaii while serving on active duty in the United States Navy from 2009 – 2013. The strong sense of community – and aloha spirit – I discovered through the sport immediately hooked me into this new wave of functional fitness. I completed my first CrossFit Open in Afghanistan in 2012, and after returning immediately began to pursue personal aspirations as both a competitor and certified trainer. Since returning from deployment I have been lucky enough to compete on two different CrossFit Games Regional Teams and had the pleasure to coach athletes in three different communities across the United States. Now that I am back in the Midwest – born and raised – I can simply say that I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to continue helping members of the Wauwatosa community reach their goals here at home as part of the Badger CrossFit training team.
A little about Tylor:
I came to CrossFit in 2012 after a short stint of college basketball was over. Looking for something to keep me active and my competitive spirit alive, I began going to MTM CrossFit in North Canton, Ohio. I was hooked from my first class. The community of CrossFit is like none other. Everyday, you know that the person next to you will be going through the same thing the whole time and they’ll be there to help push you through it.
I was fortunate enough to begin coaching in the Fall of 2013. It was then when I realized that the health fitness field was what I wanted to work in when I graduated from college. I’m extremely passionate about people and helping them do the things that they never thought was possible of themselves. Seeing someone hit a PR gives me a better feeling than if I were to hit one myself.
Outside of the gym I enjoy cooking and making crafts of the random things that my girlfriend and I find on Pinterest. And I once ate two Chipotle burritos in 6:37.
We would also like to thank Coach Troy and Justin for their time and dedication to our gym over the years. While they both are currently not coaching, we hope to have them a part of our team in the future while we manage our times and needs of classes and their schedules!
