5 year letter…

To BCF and everyone within,

First, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to address you all when everyone was here today. I did say a few words to the few left to summarize a bit how I felt. It was an informal celebration, because I didn’t want this to be about BCF/me. The last 5 years are a result of you.

With that, I wanted to say a bit more here because I can reach more of you this way. I also want to say thank you for your wonderful messages and notes. Amy made a book with them in it and I’m so excited to read what you wrote. I didn’t read it there because I would have cried and there’s no crying in CrossFit (yes there is).  If you haven’t seen this book, please check it out. There are so many pictures from the beginning to now.

To wrap up 5 years of blood, sweat, tears, screams of joy, yells of frustration, anger, happiness, pain, joy, pleasure, PRs, soreness and more than I can describe is an impossible task.

For 5 years, you have given me more than I have ever imagined. More than I deserve. The friendships we have made have been some of the most memorable I will ever experience in my lifetime. The relationships that have blossomed as a result of our being is so rewarding to watch. The marriages from those that met here that wouldn’t have been. And the kids that wouldn’t have been due to these marriages. The fitness that has resulted from a single place. There is so much more than I can describe but it comes down to this…

This gym, this community and the creation of BCF has, is and will always be about you. Like the coaches who helped from the beginning to now, the founding members who believed in the humble warehouse and training we provided and the staff, members and people of past to present… every one of you!

The opening of these doors 5 years ago was a result of a vision to connect others, through fitness, to provide a purpose for your training/fitness, to develop strong bonds of friendship, purpose and fulfillment to your lives. I wanted you all to have a place that meant more for you than just working out. I wanted to give you the outlet you were seeking.

And it’s always been my purpose to continue to do what we need to here to give you what you deserve — the highest quality training, coaching, atmosphere and resources to be your best self. We’ve done something that will always be near and dear to my heart the last 5 years — developed relationships with each other. Because I understand, it’s a just a workout at the end of the day. But you know it’s more than this. And so do I.

Thank you for giving so much to us. Thank you for making BCF a place that many call their 2nd home. Thank you for making BCF what it is. I owe you so much gratitude and thanks. Here’s to 5, 10, 15+ years…!!!

Love you guys,
Tyler
