When you are involved in the health and fitness industry, you constantly hear the things that people want to change, fix, or improve about themselves. When they tell you, they sound so determined to make a switch. They sound like the desire is so great that they will go to great lengths to achieve whatever it is they are hoping to achieve. Then, they get on their way and work hard for about 1-2 weeks, then a day is missed, or an excuse is given. More time passes and more excuses are given and then eventually they stop doing what they told themselves they would be doing. Why??? First, most people really aren’t used to working hard at things. The second it gets tough they will drop out. Second, people are afraid of missing out on something. Diets are a great one for this. “Its too hard to eat right during the holidays or when you have to be around others”. This is just an excuse, plain and simple. If you want to lose weight or look better then you have to eat right. How can you let the fact that a pumpkin pie or some other goody someone made force you to do something you said you wouldn’t do? Do you really think you’ll never be able have a beer, a burrito, or pumpkin pie ever again? Exactly. Third, people may be able to do fine when people are watching but they don’t have the fortitude when they are by themselves or the coach is not looking. It’s here when people need to be strong! Don’t let yourself cheat just because no one is looking. It all comes down to your determination, dedication and desire. If you have it, then you will achieve your goals. If you don’t, then everything you say will just be a passing comment. Which one are you?
