A reward at the end of a goal you’ve established is always helpful when you’re trying to do something. It’s often said that the journey is the reward. And this is true. But having that thing you seek, and rewarding yourself once you get there is better than giving yourself more frequent, and potentially harmful rewards along the journey. “I ate super well all week, I’m going to splurge…” and it ends up wrecking the entire week’s efforts is one example. Leave it for the end, when you attain it. You’ll more likely stick to your goal and journey!
